I was born in Bowling Green, Kentucky and moved to East Tennessee right before beginning my 8th grade school year. I am the oldest of 6 siblings and grew up spending as much time as I could outdoors. My dad started pastoring a small church when I was in middle school, so attending church and church ministry was a huge part of my life growing up. I also became really involved in sports during middle school and high school, playing volleyball and basketball until I graduated. I continued to play volleyball throughout my college years for Tennessee Temple University.
I graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies in 2004 and got married the same year. My husband and I have been married for 20 years now and have 3 children ages 18,16, and 15. Even though it was hard, I am so thankful to have been able to stay home with my children during their preschool years.
Self-growth and encouraging others to grow is something that has always been a part of my DNA. I love seeing others live a life that they were uniquely gifted and created to live! A life full of purpose and meaning! In following this passion further, I decided to go back to school, and have completed a master's in human services counseling from Liberty University as of December 2019.
While working on my degree, I accepted a position as the Program Director at Project Free 2 Fly, a nonprofit helping women to transition from hard life circumstances to a life of sustainability. Serving in this role has given me countless hours of one-on-one time coaching, counseling, and encouraging women to reach their full potential.
After serving in this role for two years, I transitioned from there to do life coaching on my own. To be able to watch an individual grow, transform, and reach personal goals is so very rewarding. I have now been coaching on my own for 3 years.
My husband and I also have a family-owned business that we started in 2010 called McCay Southern. We sell, install, and maintain whole-home standby Generac generators for the East Tennessee region. Currently my role in the business is handling Human Resources, creating our company culture, and continuing to develop our leadership. I am loving the challenge of working alongside a team to build a company that already has such a great reputation in the community.
